End User License Agreement (EULA)
Version 1.3 — effective as of October 10, 2026
This End User License Agreement ("EULA") governs the use of the CheshireKat applications (the "Apps") that you try or acquire at https://cheshirekat.com.ar. The owner of the Apps is Eduardo Daniel Vázquez (the "Owner"). This EULA supplements the Terms and Conditions.
1. License
The Owner grants you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use the App, with the scope corresponding to what you purchased:
- Trial: 30 days, on one (1) device.
- One-time payment: with no expiration, for the version current on the purchase date and previous versions.
- Monthly subscription: while the subscription is active, with all versions released.
The license can be used on the number of devices purchased. The Apps are licensed software, not sold: the Owner retains the intellectual property rights over them.
2. Activation and devices
- When you enter your key, the App validates it online and becomes linked to the device.
- To identify the device, the App sends a technical identifier that it generates itself. The Owner stores only its SHA-256 fingerprint, together with the device name, the App version and the architecture (see the Privacy Policy).
- The App can work offline for up to 7 days from the last validation. After that period, it needs to connect once to keep working.
- If you change computers, you can release the previous device from "My account" and activate the App on the new one.
3. Updates
- Subscription: includes all updates while it is active. When the App is installed from the official repositories, updates arrive through the system's package manager.
- One-time payment: includes program updates released during the 12 months following the purchase. If your system installs a version released after that period, the App informs you and you can go back to the latest covered version. The App obtains it from the update service, and the official repositories keep the released versions.
- CheshireKat Antivirus: the virus signature databases are updated only while a trial, a subscription to the App or, with a one-time payment, the signature database subscription is in effect. Without them, the App keeps protecting with the latest database installed.
4. What is not allowed
Except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it, you may not:
- copy the App, except for the backup copy permitted by law;
- distribute, sell, rent, lend or sublicense it;
- decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer it;
- circumvent, disable or alter its license mechanisms;
- share your license key or use it on more devices than purchased.
5. Third-party components
The Apps may include free software or third-party components, for example Qt libraries, under the LGPL-3.0 license. Those components are governed by their own licenses, which are provided with each App. Nothing in this EULA restricts the rights those licenses grant you: for example, the right to replace an LGPL library with another compatible version.
6. App-specific terms
An App may include specific terms in its package, for example its own license agreement. If any of them differs from this EULA in relation to a purchase made at https://cheshirekat.com.ar, the term most favorable to you applies.
7. End of the license
The license ends:
- when the trial or the subscription expires without renewal;
- when you exercise the right of withdrawal;
- in the event of a refund or chargeback;
- if the Owner revokes it for a serious breach of this EULA, with prior notice to you by email.
When the license ends, the App stops working with all its features. The files and data you created with it remain yours.
8. Warranty and liability
The Apps are offered with the warranty and liability established by Consumer Protection Law Ley 24.240 and the Código Civil y Comercial (Civil and Commercial Code). Nothing in this EULA limits those rights.
Outside those rights and to the extent permitted by law, the Owner is not liable for indirect damages arising from:
- uses other than those intended;
- incompatibilities with third-party software or hardware;
- data loss that could have been avoided with reasonable backups.
We recommend that you keep backups of your information.
9. Governing law
This EULA is governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic. The consumer may bring proceedings before the courts of their domicile.
